My name is Ensieh Seyedhosseini. I am from Iran. I obtained my B.Sc. (2009) and M.Sc. (2011) degrees in Chemistry at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran. My Master’s thesis focused on modifying and functionalizing gold nanoparticles for determination of aminoacids in body fluids. During my Master’s I gained a knowledge and interest in nanotechnology, nanostructure synthesizing, surface science and Biochemistry.
In February 2012, I joined Nanomotion program as ESR8. My current research area is the investigation of electromechanical properties of biomaterials for a wide range of applications such as biosensors, actuators, memories and electro-optic devices. My Ph.D. project focuses on studying ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties of aminoacid single crystals at the macro- and nanoscale levels. This project is based at the University of Aveiro under the supervision of Dr. Kholkin and Dr. Bdikin in collaboration with Dr. Rodriguez at the University College Dublin. There is more detailed information about my project in the description of WP3a.
My interests are growth and characterization of bio-organic crystals and understanding the relations between the chemical structure of bio-organic crystals and their physical properties.
